The National Weather Service is always so very conservative with their forecasts. They are predicting a 10% chance of rain rolling in tonight. I suspect the coverage will be broader and wider; with the rain moving in quicker. Boy, has this El Nino got us on the fast track to lots of rain every few days. With the southerly jet stream active, we are getting storm after storm, and even thunder in January and that’s pretty rare.
Those to our North are bracing for a winter storm. It will be iffy if northern Alabama gets in on the action. Especially the Alabama Tennessee Valley. It will all depend on the timing of the precip and how deep the cold air is. I wouldn’t rule out some wintry mix precipitation. Man, what I wouldn’t do to hear the pitter patter of sleet on my roof.

Hey Andrew
Do you wanna see winter weather in the north...it's snowing in MA right now. I posted two pics on my blog. You can see them at http://pturner.blogspot.com/ if you like.
