High pressure is centered over Texas at the moment. This is setting up a pressure gradient and high winds for the South. Temperatures are running 37 degrees according to my wireless weather station right now. As soon as the sun begins to rise, the winds will pick up, and it will be a cold and brisk wind for the rest of the day.
All that said, it is going to be a beautifully sunny day today. I would be surprised to see a cloud in the sky. The high will only get up to 53 today.
Tomorrow night will be bitterly cold with a low around 25 degrees. Light winds and radiational cooling will help this. Bring in pets and sensitive plants.
SNOW!
The NWS is hinting at possible winter weather for this weekend. Friday night and Saturday to be exact. As with all possible snow events in the South, this one should be taken with a grain a salt. They are going by models and not actual forecaster’s predictions. Models change from day to day.
