Cooler and drier air settles over the southeast the first part of the week. All eyes are looking to later in the week for possible winter weather. Cold air will be in place as a stalled front will be the focusing mechanism for upper level disturbances forming and bringing the possible white stuff to the South. We are still in voodoo land, though, with regards to that forecast. Monday through Wednesday, high pressure from the plains will settle into the region to bring several rain-free days.
Moisture gathering over Texas the first part of the week could mean the start of another storm system for the Southeast. Depending on the track of that next storm, another dose of drenching rain could be in the cards Thursday. However, a surge of dry air from the northwest could shunt the storm much farther to the east, perhaps off the Atlantic coast entirely. The details will unfold over the next few days; keep checking in to the blog for full details.
