High pressure has brought more seasonal temperatures and calm conditions to most of the country. There is a upper level disturbance over Texas that is taking shape. The Northeast could see some major snow later Saturday and Sunday as a low gears up and moves up the coast. It is looking like a classic Nor'easter scenario. Heavier, accumulating snow will be possible from New York City to Boston, with a mix of rain and snow in the Philadelphia region. It looks like mostly rain for the Washington, DC area.
The temperature this morning, here, was 30 degrees just before daybreak. Calm winds and clear skies allowed more pronounced radiational cooling to take place. The low was much colder than predicted.
